The Slower Days

It’s finally my favorite season of the year — Christmas!
This year, I’ve been attending so many Christmas parties that I haven’t been able to blog as much as I wanted. Today, I’m excited to share a little story from our pink-themed Christmas party, which we hosted for Leo’s daycare friends a couple of weekends ago.

드디어 제가 제일 좋아하는 시즌, 크리스마스가 왔어요!
올해는 크리스마스 파티가 유난히 많아서 블로그 포스팅을 자주 못 했네요.
오늘은 지지난주 주말, 리오의 데이케어 친구들과 함께 열었던 핑크 컬러 테마의 크리스마스 파티 이야기를 남겨보려고 해요.

The idea for a Pink Christmas Party came from Pinterest.
I instantly fell in love with its soft, feminine, and romantic vibe. I think this theme became even more popular recently after LoveShackFancy launched their Christmas decoration collection this season.

We started by creating and handing out invitations.
Having a mood board and invitation prepared in advance makes party planning so much easier, and it also helps guests quickly understand the overall vibe and dress code.

‘핑크 크리스마스 파티’라는 컨셉은 핀터레스트를 보다가 발견했어요.
사랑스럽고 여성스러운 무드가 너무 예뻤는데, 이번 시즌에 LoveShackFancy에서 크리스마스 데코 아이템들을 런칭하면서 더 유명해진 컨셉인 것 같더라고요.

먼저 초대장을 만들어 미리 나눠드렸어요.
이렇게 무드보드와 초대장을 먼저 준비해두면 파티 준비 과정도 훨씬 수월하고, 초대받은 분들도 드레스 코드나 전체 분위기를 쉽게 이해할 수 있어서 좋아요.

I co-hosted the party with a close mom friend, which definitely made things more manageable.
I was in charge of decorations, so I brought many items from home and purchased additional pieces as needed. Since we planned a dessert table, I also prepared desserts in advance.

Most of the decorations were purchased from HomeGoods, World Market, and Amazon, while the balloons and helium tank were from Target. There were so many adorable items — it was hard to resist!

이번 파티는 저와 친한 엄마 한 분이 함께 호스팅해서 부담이 조금 덜했어요.
저는 데코레이션을 담당했는데, 집에서 사용하던 소품들을 최대한 활용하고 부족한 것들은 새로 구매했어요. 디저트 테이블도 꾸밀 예정이라 디저트도 함께 준비했고요.

주로 HomeGoods, World Market, Amazon에서 아이템을 구입했고,
풍선과 헬륨 탱크는 Target에서 구매했어요.
귀여운 아이템들이 정말 많아서 고르는 재미가 쏠쏠했답니다.

일단 집 들어가는 문 앞에 풍선 장식과 아이케아 별 조명 장식으로 힘을 좀 줬어요. 들어오는 순간 와! 하는 드라마틱한 효과를 주고 싶어서 풍선을 잔뜩 띄우고 별을 중앙에 붙였어요. 풍선과 갈랜드는 타겟 제품입니다.

For the entrance, I went all out with balloon decorations and IKEA star lights.
I wanted guests to have a dramatic “wow” moment as soon as they walked in, so I filled the space with balloons and placed the star right in the center.
The balloons and garlands were all from Target.

Inside the house, I added garlands and pink velvet ribbons throughout to bring in a festive Christmas feel.
Pink candles were the final touch — they really completed the pink Christmas mood.
I even tied pink velvet ribbons onto the champagne glasses for a little extra detail.

집 입구에는 풍선 장식과 이케아 별 조명으로 포인트를 줬어요.
들어오는 순간 “와!” 하고 감탄이 나올 수 있도록 풍선을 가득 띄우고, 중앙에 별 조명을 달아 드라마틱한 느낌을 주고 싶었거든요.
풍선과 갈랜드는 모두 Target 제품이에요.

집 안 곳곳도 크리스마스 분위기가 물씬 나도록 갈랜드와 핑크 벨벳 리본으로 꾸몄어요.
마무리는 핑크 컬러 캔들로—이것만 더해도 완벽한 핑크 크리스마스 무드가 완성돼요.
샴페인 글래스에도 벨벳 핑크 리본을 묶어 디테일을 살려줬고요.

The area I focused on the most was the dessert table.
I bought a plain red velvet cake and decorated it myself with cookies and berries — isn’t it so cute?
We also prepared a variety of gingerbread cookies and shortbread cookies, along with marshmallows and hot cocoa.
(Although, I wish the hot cocoa had been more popular!)

The hot cocoa set was from HomeGoods, and I loved how cute it was — it even came with different flavors.
The Santa cookie jar is something I use every year, and it’s honestly perfect for Christmas decor.

가장 신경을 많이 쓴 공간은 역시 디저트 테이블였어요.
레드벨벳 플레인 케이크를 사서, 그 위에 쿠키와 베리로 직접 데코레이션을 해봤는데… 너무 귀엽지 않나요?
진저브레드 쿠키와 숏브레드 쿠키도 다양하게 준비했고, 마시멜로와 핫초코도 준비했어요.
(근데 생각보다 핫초코를 많이 안 마셔서 조금 아쉬웠다는… 😅)

핫초코 세트는 HomeGoods에서 구매했는데, 패키지도 너무 귀엽고 다양한 플레이버가 들어 있어서 마음에 들었어요. 산타 쿠키 통은 매년 사용하는 아이템인데, 크리스마스 데코로 정말 딱이에요.

We prepared plenty of food, and everyone enjoyed it so much.

음식도 다양하게 준비해서 모두 정말 맛있게 먹었답니다.

Leo, his friends, and all the families had such a wonderful time together.
Christmas really is about sharing special moments with people you love.
The kids also played a Secret Santa game and each took home a gift — seeing how happy they were made all of us smile.

리오와 친구들, 그리고 가족들까지 모두 즐거운 시간을 보냈어요.
크리스마스 시즌은 역시 좋은 사람들과 함께하는 시간이 가장 소중하고 행복한 것 같아요.
아이들은 시크릿 산타 게임으로 각자 선물도 하나씩 가져갔는데, 다들 너무 즐거워해서 보는 저희도 덩달아 행복해졌답니다.
